Ocean Beach Holiday Park is constantly striving to improve its accommodation and facilities for their guests. In doing this, our hard work has paid off and we have been awarded with various recognitions.

We are the proud holder of a Silver Gumnut Award

- the second level of the Caravan and Camping Industry's Eco Program.

The Caravan and Camping Industry take their environmental responsibility very seriously – we want to be part of the solution, not the problem. Holiday and tourist parks are an important part of the community and we want to ensure that our park stays that way.

Participating in the Gumnut Award program means that our business is working towards being a responsible tourism operator through environmentally and socially responsible management  policies and practices. You can read more about the Gumnut Award program by visiting www.gumnutawards.com.au

Some of our Gumnut Award work is easy to see but most is not - the majority of efforts to reduce our footprint comes through changes in the way we do things, the products we use and services we engage.

Prior to achieving our Bronze Gumnut Award, we completed a training program that ensured we received information and education to help meet the obligations of membership.

In order to achieve the Silver Gumnut Award, we developed and implemented a comprehensive Environmental Management Plan (EMP), that will guide us in achieving our sustainability goals. The EMP was independently assessed by sustainability professionals and includes actions in the following categories.

NSW's #1 family-friendly Holiday Park in 2011!

Ocean Beach Holiday Park is celebrating the announcement that they have ranked Number 1 in family-friendly holiday parks in NSW. The Park was recognised in the annual 'Holidays with Kids' travel magazine awards, voted by the national magazine's readership of over 600,000 parents, 61,000 online members and customers of Club Med and TakeABreak.com.au.

Categories included activities for kids, staff hospitality, accommodation, location, safety and family fun.

Ocean Beach Holiday Park Manager, Vanessa Fordyce, says the popular Umina Beach landmark ticks all the boxes because it offers exceptional holiday facilities at a price that is affordable to most Australian families. Ms Fordyce said the award backs up the positive feedback the park consistently receives from guests and confirms her staff's outstanding commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Ocean Beach Holiday Park has become Australia's top "Family Friendly Holiday Park" for 2010 by being awarded 1st place in the annual Holidays with Kids awards.

Last year the park was awarded 5th place, so to move up 4 places is an incredible achievement and shows the park's hard work and determination in improving its facilities and accommodation for their guests.

NRMA Holiday Parks General Manager Dianne Day said, "The award is a tribute to the staff and their efforts in every aspect of the business, and shows their dedication and focus on creating the perfect haven for families."

The awards are decided by readers and online members of "Holidays with Kids" magazine, who voted for Ocean Beach based on a range of categories including activities and facilities for kids, standard of accommodation, fun for the entire family, and much more.

The annual award is voted by readers and online members of "Holiday with Kids" magazine, who nominated Ocean Beach for outstanding holiday appeal and facilities for families. Readers were invited to rank their nominations on categories including activities and facilities for kids, staff hospitality, standard of accommodation, location, accessibility, safety, fun for the entire family, value for money and overall experience.
